“Those who sow in tears will reap with joy.” Psalm 126:5
This is one of the Psalms that the Israelites sang on their way to Jerusalem after having been captive in Babylon for 70 years.
Here we are talking about those who “sow in tears,” and sometimes this is what we have to do. Sow in tears, keep doing what is right, keep praying and hoping that things will change. In doing so, we sow seeds for an eventual harvest in God’s time.
I have learned that in the divine calendar there is always a day when God will bring deliverance. Said the Lord Jesus in front of Lazarus' tomb when there was no hope left.: “ This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” John 11:4.
We may see things as difficult, but let us always keep in mind that nothing is impossible for God. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5
It is true that it often takes more than one night for our problems to be solved, but this Psalm teaches us a principle: God always comes and gives us victory. Your problems will end and your sadness will turn into joy.
Prayer: Father, I am thankful that I can depend on You to turn my tears into joy. If there is sin in me, forgive me and turn my sorrow into joy; in Jesus' name. Amen!
