Is it possible for a redeemed person to lose salvation?

The Bible says, “No!” He who is saved has eternal life.

Eternal life by definition cannot be temporary. If the salvation you received can be lost then it was not eternal but rather temporary.

Eternal life is the present possession and position of all those who have truly been born again.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has everlasting life and will not come into condemnation; he has passed from death into life.” John 5:24

“But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name.” John 1:11-12

“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.” John 10:28-29

According to the Scriptures, people who profess to know Christ for a time, and then deny Him were never saved.

“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out so that it might be made manifest that they are not all of us.” 1 John 2:19

A true believer will never depart from the faith. “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6.

However, every true Christian can sin and lose communion with God, but a son can never lose the relationship with his father; he remains a son no matter how far he goes.
