AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE.

“Always be joyful. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Every year in the month of November we gather to reflect on the blessings received from our God during the past year.

While for many it will possibly mark a year of blessing, for others it will bring a reminder of the loss of a family member or it was a year marked by pain.

With this in mind, we may ask ourselves: How can we be thankful? Well, if you are a child of God, your basis and motive should not be your circumstances, but something greater. The Bible tells us to “give thanks to God in all things.” Why? Because that is the “will of God in Christ.” In other words, followers of Christ believe that every difficulty is a gift of grace from the Lord, sent for our growth, sanctification, and greater intimacy with the Almighty.

We believe that God is firmly in charge of every circumstance in our lives. Even though life can sometimes get difficult, in the end everything falls under the sovereign will of our God.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” Romans 8:28

For this reason we thank God.
